David’s Story

Hi my name is David and I’m from Exeter caring for my partner Peter and we’ve been together for 36 yrs and never thought that we would end up in this situation and certainly didn’t realise how difficult it can be.

Peter has always been the strong one who sorted everything out at home but now the baton of responsibility has passed down to me and I freely admit that I am struggling.

Peter still likes listening to music and taking the dog Misty for a walk with me of course, in case the dog gets lost. !!! I have health issues myself which makes caring for Peter that little bit more difficult but thankfully over the years we have made some good friends, and they are very supportive towards myself and Peter, which helps me to get through each day.
